将棋（しょうぎ）Shogi

　よく知しっているし、家族かぞくですることがあるという人ひとと、言葉ことばは知しっているけれど、ルールがむずかしくてよく分わからないという人ひとがいると思おもいます。

　将棋しょうぎは、２人ふたりでするゲームです。

　縦たてと横よこに９ますずつの部屋へやのある盤ばんを使つかって行おこないます。

　お互たがいに８種類しゅるい２０枚まいの駒こまを持もっています。一人ひとりが王将おうしょう、もう一人ひとりが玉将ぎょくしょうを持もちます。

　自分じぶんの持もっている駒こまを使つかって、相手あいての持もつ王将おうしょう、あるいは、玉将ぎょくしょうを取とれば勝とちというルールです。

　西洋せいようには、将棋しょうぎとよく似にたチェスというゲームがあります。

　しかし、チェスとの大おおきな違ちがいは、将棋しょうぎの場合ばあい、相手あいての王将おうしょう（玉将ぎょくしょう）以外いがいの駒こまを取とった時ときに自分じぶんの駒こまとして使つかえるようになることです。

　先程さきほど、８種類しゅるいの駒こまがあると書かきましたが、８種類しゅるい全すべてが違ちがう動うごきをします。駒うごの動うごき方かたを覚おぼえるのがたいへんなので、将棋しょうぎは、よくわからないと思おもう人ひとがいるみたいです。

　将棋しょうぎは、とても頭あたまを使つかうゲームです。

　野球やきゅうやサッカーのように、プロの試合しあいもあります。プロというのはプロフェッショナルという英語えいごを短みじかくした言葉ことばでそれを仕事しごとにして、お金かねをもらっているという意味いみです。

Shogi

　Do you know the game of shogi?

  I think there are people who know it well and have something to do with their family, and people who know the language but don’t understand the rules because they are difficult.

　Shogi is a game played by two people. 

　This is done using a board with nine rooms vertically and horizontally. 

　Each other has 20 pieces of 8 types. 

　One has a king A and the other has a king B. 

　The rule is that if you use your own piece and take the opponent’s king, you will win.

　In the West, there is a game called chess, which is very similar to shogi. 

　However, the big difference from chess is that in the case of shogi, if you take a piece of an opponent other than the opponent’s king , you can use it as your own piece.

　I mentioned earlier that there are eight types of pieces.

　All eight types behave differently.

　It’s hard to remember how the pieces move, so it seems that some people don’t understand shogi.

　Shogi is a very mind-boggling game.

　There are also professional games, like baseball and soccer.

　Japanese “Pro” is a short English word for professional, which means that you get paid for it by doing it as a job.
