エベレスト　Everest

　エベレストは、世せ界かいで一番高いちばんたかい山やまです。

　高たかさが、8848メートルあります。

　エベレストは、中国ちゅうごくとチベットの国境こっきょうにあります。

　エベレストは、チベット語ごで、チョモランマといいます。

　世せ界一かいいち高たかい山やまに登のぼろうと、世せ界かいの登と山ざん家かが、エベレストをめざしています。

　エベレストのような高たかい山やまは、平地へいちと比くらべると、空気くうきが薄うすく、気温きおんが低ひくくなります。

　山やまの高たかい部ぶ分ぶんは、一年中いちねんじゅう雪ゆきと氷こおりにおおわれています。

　登頂とうちょうするためには、きびしい訓練くんれんをしないと、とても危き険けんです。

　これまでに5000ごせん人にんほどの登と山ざん家かが登頂とうちょうに成功せいこうしています。

　日に本人ほんじんもたくさんの人がエベレスト登と山ざんにいどみ、成功せいこうしています。

　世せ界かいで一番高齢いちばんこうれいのエベレストの登と山者ざんしゃは、日に本人ほんじんです。

　三み浦雄一郎うらゆういちろうさんが、2013年ねんに80歳さいで成功せいこうしています。

　女性じょせいの最高年齢さいこうねんれい記き録ろくを持もっているのも、日に本人女性ほんじんじょせいです。

　渡辺わたなべ玉たま枝えさんが、2012年ねんに73歳さいで成功せいこうしています。

　しかし、残念ざんねんなことに途中とちゅうでなくなる人ひともいます。

　なくなった人ひとの体からだを高たかい山やまから下おろすことは危き険けんなので、死し体たいの中なかには、山やまに置おかれたままになっているものもたくさんあります。

　Mountaineers from all over the world are aiming to climb the world’s tallest mountain.

　The air is thinner and the temperature is lower on high mountains such as Mount Everest than on flat terrain.

　The higher parts of the mountain are covered with snow and ice all year round.

　Climbing to the summit is very dangerous without rigorous training.

　So far, about 5,000 climbers have successfully reached the summit.

　Many Japanese have also successfully attempted to climb Mount Everest.

　The world’s oldest Everest climber is Japanese.

　Yuichiro Miura succeeded in 2013 at the age of 80.

　The record for the oldest female climber is also held by a Japanese woman.

　Tamae Watanabe succeeded in 2012 at the age of 73.

　Unfortunately, however, some people die in the process. Since it is dangerous to take down a dead body from a high mountain, many of the bodies are left on the mountain.
