流れ星と隕石（ながれぼしといんせき）Shooting Stars and Meteorites 

　宇宙うちゅうには、たくさんの星ほしがあります。

　星ほしにならないような岩いわのかたまりのようなものもたくさんあります。

　それらの岩いわのかたまりが地球ちきゅうに向むかって進すすんでくることがあります。

　それらは、地球ちきゅうの周まわりにある空くう気きと触ふれることでまさつを起おこし、熱あつくなります。

　冬ふゆに手てと手てをこすると少すこし暖あたたかくなるのもまさつの一種いっしゅです。

　岩いわのかたまりは、長ながい時じ間かん地ち球きゅうの周まわりにある空くう気きとこすれ続つづけているうちに、途中とちゅうでとても熱あつくなって熱ねつや光ひかりを出だすことがあります。

　この光ひかりが、夜よ空ぞらに見みえる流ながれ星ぼしの正体しょうたいです。

　宇宙うちゅうにある岩いわのかたまりは、地ち球きゅうに届とどくまでに燃もえつきますが、中なかには、燃もえつきないで岩いわや石いしの状態じょうたいで地球ちきゅうにたどりつくことがあります。

　地ち球きゅうにたどりついた岩いわや石いしが、隕石いんせきです。

Shooting Stars and Meteorites 

　There are many stars in the universe.

　There are also many things like chunks of rock that do not become stars.

　Sometimes these chunks of rock come toward the earth.

　When they come into contact with the air around the earth, they cause a seizure and become hot.

　The slight warmth you get when you rub your hands together in the winter is also a form of thermal friction.

　A chunk of rock, after rubbing against the air around the earth for a long time, can become very hot and emit heat or light.

　This light is what shooting stars are in the night sky.

　Some chunks of rock in space burn up before reaching the earth, but some of them do not burn up and reach the earth in the form of rocks and stones.

　The rocks and stones that reach the earth are meteorites
